(SNAPP 5 [or “5NAPP” because it looks cool] is not a “best of” compilation, but more of a list of just five great games that have some kind of connection between them.)

Looks like another release week has come and gone. Yes, IT’S FRIDAY GLITCHES!! Time to get the fuzzy handcuffs and bullwhip and let’s get our gaming on!

It’s been a fairly decent week on the App Store with the exception of a handful of games having audio issues. I recorded a quick SNAPPshot video to kind of show you guys what I’m talking about.

Anyway, if you don’t know what to play this weekend, let us help you out with a quick 5 games that should get you through the next couple days. Here’s The Weekly 5NAPP!!

The Bonfire: Forsaken Lands is milder take on the hit indie game, Kingdom. It’s a strategy game that has you building, crafting, discovering, and surviving. It’s not a perfect game by all means. The menu system can get a little overwhelming and sometimes you’ll want to strangle your character. Regardless, it’s an excellent game.

Reed ^_^

Genre: Games, Arcade, Entertainment, Adventure
Language: English
Price: $1.99
Version: 1.0

Another hit by Crescent Moon. Reed is a tough as nails pixel art platformer with a cute little story mixed with it. You play as Reed as you’re forced to collect cubes in order to fix the old supercomputer in order to save the world. There’s 50 levels plus a bunch of secret levels. So, there won’t be any issues finishing the game too quickly.

Gladiator Rising is a turn-based roguelike RPG. There’s 5 different chapters with a bunch of randomly generated gladiators to fight against, so it’s always different every time you play. It’s F2P, you you’ll have to deal with some of the usual schenanigans, but it’s not super heavy on the IAPs and there aren’t any timers. The tutorial isn’t the greatest either, but it didn’t take me that long to figure things out.

Dragon Storm Knight

Genre: Games, Action, Role Playing, Entertainment
Language: English, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Spanish, Thai, Chinese
Price: free
Version: 1.2

Artist: Springcomes Co., Ltd.

Dragon Storm is an action RPG where you play as a knight (to start) off on an adventure with the Guardian Spirits out to kill the Dark Lord that was just released from “The Seal”. To be honest, I didn’t really get into the story much, but the gameplay is pretty fun. It almost has a “Slayin” vibe to the game except that the you are only controlling your attacks instead of your movement. Of course, it’s F2P and Dragon Storm doesn’t slack on the IAPs and timers. But it’s still a fun game worth checking out.

Here’s one that hasn’t gotten any attention. Luckily you guys and gals have SNAPPZILLA! (Shameless plug) uVu which means “you versus universe” is an odd mashup of SHMUP and a clicker game. The game can definitely get a little overwhelming at first. There’s so much going on on the screen at once! But, once you figure things out, the game is actually pretty fun! It’s got a cool retro-modern pixel art style and the universe is all randomly generated. If you’re into SHMUPs or clickers or both, definitely check uVu out!

Well there’s your fancy-shmancy Weekly 5NAPP! Hopefully these gems will keep you occupied for the weekend. But if you’re still hurtin for a squirtin of new games, you can check out this week’s (Windows 95 theme) SNAPP Roundup for the rest of this week’s new game releases!

Have a great weekend SNAPP Family!!
