(SNAPP 5 [or “5NAPP” because it looks cool] is not a “best of” compilation, but more of a list of just five great games that have some kind of connection between them.)
The work week is finally over people! So, I think it’s safe to say that IT’S FRIDAY GLITCHES!! Time to get the corncobs and KY and get this weekend started right!! If you don’t know what to play this weekend, let us help ya out with the Weekly 5NAPP!!
We had kind of a wonky week on the App Store. It was busy, but it was busy on days that usually aren’t busy. Then the days that usually are busy, weren’t very busy at all. Makes total sense right? On top of it, the App Store didn’t get updated until sometime this afternoon depending on where you live. It’s a crazy mixed up world I tell ya!
Regardless, we still had a fairly decent week for new mobile games. It’s actually been pretty crazy the past month or so. I’ve actually had to kind of put Nintendo Switch content on hold so I can get myself caught up! I guess being busy is never a bad thing. Especially when you’re trying to run a newer website.
Anyway, how about I stop talking about random shit and let’s get into some games?? Here’s this week’s SNAPP 5!!
In The Dog House is a really cool puzzle game with some cute pixel art. I think this is the first time I’ve seen a Nitrome game with a price tag on it too! Maybe they are trying something new? Either way, it makes the game more enjoyable not having to deal with F2P shenanigans. Definitely worth picking up if you’re a puzzle or Nitrome fan.
Deep Space is actually a really cool game once you get the right mindset for it. It’s more of a high-score chaser/endless runner, rather than a platformer. Once you think of it that way, the game is really fun. You’re basically trying to see how far you can get in each randomized level. Collect coins, upgrade your weapons, rinse and repeat. It can be a bit grindy, but in a good way.
Cartoon Craft is a cute little RTS game by indie developer, ParkPill. The Orcs and Humans in the land have been turned into zombies and you have to find out why. It’s got some witty writing and nice hand drawn visuals. It may be a little lite for Some RTS fans, but it’s still a charming little game.
This is pretty much a re-release of an old game published by MiniClip, but it’s still worth playing if you’re new to mobile gaming or have never heard of this gem. Beast Quest is an action/adventure game with some of my favorite style of controls on the platform. It’s definitely worth a download if you haven’t played it yet. I’m actually replaying this one over again. Expect a From The Attic write-up on it soon.
Gleam of Fire is a tough as nails pixel art platformer with some cool twists. It’s a fairly simple style of game where you just need to collect the 3 hidden souls in each level and find the exit. You can upgrade your character, magic, and weapons which helps out a lot. This game is TOUGH, so you’ll need all the help you can get.
Alright. That’s about it for this week! I apologize for the lack of content this week. Like I said, I’ve been a bit swamped this week with everything, so I’ve been trying catch-up some. I’ll make it up to you……..in pleasure. You can check out the rest of this week’s new games in the SNAPP Roundup.
Have a great weekend everyone! Keep on swiping!!
