(SNAPP 5 [or “5NAPP” because it looks cool] is not a “best of” compilation, but more of a list of just five great games that have some kind of connection between them.)
Welcome to the end of the work week family!! IT’S FRIDAY GLITCHES!! Time to hit the massage parlor for a SNAPPy ending!! If you don’t know what to do after that, let Noen help you out with The Weekly 5NAPP!!
We had a pretty solid release week on the App Store. Congrats to everyone that released a game or update this week and congrats to anyone that got some front page love from Apple! I will say that I don’t 100% agree on the games that got featured, but I guess I pretty much say that every week. Apple has been doing a decent job lately with their picks though. I’ll give them that. Just not this week.
I’ve always been a fan of these Hill Climb Racing style of games. There are tons of them out there and every one has its own strengths and weaknesses. MMX Hill Dash is is one of the better ones. I will say that I was expecting a little more with the sequel though. MMX Hill Dash 2 feels more like a V1.5, but it’s still worth the download if you dug the first.
Mushroom Guardian is a pretty solid platformer. You play as a gnome that’s after the Evil Frog King and his army. There are quite a few different play styles that keeps the game from getting repetitive. There are only 20 levels, so the game is a bit short. But, for the price, it’s worth the experience.

This one came out of nowhere for me. The original Major Mayhem was a blasty-blast back in the day. The sequel does not disappoint either. Major Mayhem 2 for the most part plays just like its predecessor, except everything is cranked up a notch. There’s 50 levels, 20 upgradable weapons, 5 different bosses, and a ton of explosions. The biggest drawback is that the game is F2P with a timer on how many times you can play. That is a HUGE downfall for games. Especially a game like this where you want to keep playing. This is our life now……

Alright, here’s my arcade-y game of the week. Pocket Pins is a really fun bowling high-score-chaser game. It has a sleek design to it and is pretty simple to pick up and play. There are different pins/balls/lanes to unlock with gems you collect to give you something to look forward to besides a high score. I’d love to see a SNAPPZILLA themed ball/pins/lane if you’re reading this dev! Pocket Pins is tougher than it looks, but one you figure out how to rock the curveball, you’re all set.
Still Here is a cute little 2D flying game. You play as a character named “Pip” that is exploring the world for remnants of a human civilization. The visuals are really well done and there’s some cute characters you meet up with. You can also collect different outfits with their own unique stats. I’m not finished with this one yet, but it looks like it’s going to be on the shorter side with only 15 levels. For the price. I’d say it’s worth it so far.
Alright. That’s your SNAPP 5 this week. Remember, there’s are the “best of” the week. So don’t get upset if a certain game didn’t make it. I may not have even got to it yet. The Weekly 5NAPP is just fine new games that shouldn’t be missed. You can check out the rest of this week’s new games in the SNAPP Roundup. With that said, have a great weekend everyone!! And keep on swiping!!
