(SNAPP 5 [or “5NAPP” because it looks cool] is not a “best of” compilation, but more of a list of just five great games that have some kind of connection between them.)

We’ve made it to the end of the week SNAPP Family! Yes, IT’S FRIDAY GLITCHES!! Time to fill the kiddy pool with tapioca pudding, strap on the SNAPP Thong, and play some games!!

We had a pretty solid week for new releases on the App Store. I’ve got a ton of games I’m digging. Apple did a fairly decent job on this week’s featured games. I know I’ve tweeted this out a couple times, but again, I’m super happy to see Polar Rollout get some front page love. The developer, Blair Randall sent me an early build of the game literally years ago. Well before SNAPPZILLA. Hell, it was back when I was on the TouchArcade Forums! Just watching the struggles and talking to him over the years about the game makes things a more personal experience. It’s always cool seeing everything come together in the end. That’s what SNAPPZILLA is all about. That’s why I’m always screaming “SNAPP Family”. Besides showcasing lesser known games on the App Store, it’s nice showing readers the personal side of games. That’s one thing that will never change here. We will always be a family at SNAPPZILLA!!

Looks like I’m due for another Coffee & Swiping. I’m starting to ramble too much!

Alright. Let’s get things moving. Here’s this week’s SNAPP Five!!!!

Polish polish polish! Did I say polish?? Oddmar is an absolute platforming gem! You play as a shunned Viking named, Oddmar that has to redeem himself to his villagers. The story is well written and funny, the visuals are like straight out of a cartoon, and the controls work beautifully on both the iPhone and iPad. Oddmar has already redeemed himself……..in my heart.

I know it’s 4/20 and all, but let’s talk about some beer drinking……or brewing. Brew Town is a “Craft Beer Simulator” with a unique art style. It plays a lot lot most F2P sim games with different currencies and timers, but for some reason this one just feels different to me. It feels less “hollow” than most of those games. You can tell the game was created for fun with the player in mind. The best thing is creating and designing your own bottles and letting others rate them. This one is worth checking out if you’re into sim games.

I wrote a quick SNAPP Review of this earlier this week, so I won’t go into too many details. I’ll just say that it’s a really fun retro-style arcade racer. I’ve been playing it all week and am still digging it.

Yes, I have a clicker game in here this week. Clickers/Idle games definitely aren’t my favorite genre, but this one isn’t bad! Tap the Monster is a lot more RPG than it is just random tapping. There’s a ton of missions, boss fights, dungeon crawling, leveling up, upgrading, etc. This one is worchecking out even if you can’t stand clickers.

Smashy Drift is an arcade-y high score chaser where you pretty much just Drift as far as you can without hitting anything. It’s kind of like Thumb Drift, but with L/R button controls. There’s 20+ different vehicles with their own unique tracks. It would have been nice to see this games as a full fledged racer, but for what it is, it’s still a pretty fun time killer.

Well, that’s about it for this week’s SNAPP 5. Remember, there were plenty of other great games released this week. Make sure to check them out in the (70’s themed) SNAPP Roundup. Have a great weekend everyone! Keep it stiff!!
