SNAPPshot: September 14, 2017

(SNAPPshot is a daily blog-like news piece about the mobile gaming industry. A “snapshot” of the past 24 hours if you will. It’s basically an excuse for Noen to ramble on about anything and everything that has to do with nothing.)

Goooooooooood flipping morning/afternoon/evening SNAPP Family!! Time to pour a cup of coffee and see what the hell has been going on the past 24 hours!

Download all the apps meme

Well, it’s Thursday everybody! The day of the App Store update. It’s morning for me, so there’s still no change, but I’m going to make a couple predictions. Let’s see. I’m sure Iron Marines will get a big spot and it’s well deserved in my opinion. King’s Knight will most likely get a spot. Pocket Miner 3 will get a nod. I’m thinking SEGA might sneak in there with one of their “Sega Forever” games. I think the new OPUS game and/or Drag n Boom will get a spot. Aaaaand there’s gotta be a few super casual or puzzle games to get featured. So, maybe Coloristic or Alpaca Dash? There’s a new Adventure Time game, so that might squeeze itself in also. I think my wildcard is going to be Shoot Like Hell.

So, there’s my prediction. Let’s see how good or bad I am tonight.

Only a couple bits of news yesterday…….

GRID Autosport

The official GRID Autosport trailer released yesterday and it looks absolutely beautiful!! I am so excited about this one. Of course, I’m sure it’ll be F2P, but hopefully it’s not going to be TOO bad. No release date has been announced except for “coming soon”. Rumor has it that the game is really close to being done and that we could possibly see it within the next few weeks.

Block Fortress Empires

Right on the back of the release of Nobleman, Foursaken Media has already been talking about their next game titled, Block Fortress: Empires. Apparently this game is going to be like a mashup of Minecraft and Clash of Clans. So, lots of crafting and holding defense. Of course, the game is still in its early stages, so there is no release date yet.

Fugl screenshot

Last but not least, Indie developer, Johan Gjestland (Melodive) is finally releasing his newest game Fugl on Steam today. I know the game is slated for iOS, so hopefully it won’t be too much longer. I’ll try and get in touch with him today. I swear, I’ve been playing different iOS builds since the game was in it’s infancy and all that i can say is that it’s been a journey. I think the game was in development when I first started my Twitter account. It’s definitely been awhile.

Alright people. That’s it for your SNAPPshot of yesterday. I’ve gotta get back to stalking the App Store. Have a great day everyone and remember to keep on swiping……..
