(SNAPPshot is a daily blog-like news piece about the mobile game industry. A “snapshot” of the past 24 hours if you will. It’s basically an excuse for Noen to ramble on about anything and everything that has to do with nothing.)
Gooooooood flipping morning/afternoon/evening SNAPP Family!! Time to pour a cup of coffee and see what the hell has been going on the past 24 hours!
Well, as you may already know, IT’S FRIDAY GLITCHES!! Yes, the work week is almost over (or already over for some). I’ll try and get started on this week’s SNAPP Roundup early today. It’s been a little tough getting it out on Fridays now with the daily SNAPPshot, reviews, etc. The Roundup takes me a solid day almost to put together.
Anyway, the App Store has finally been updated and I’ve gotta say. I didn’t do too bad with my predictions yesterday! There were a couple casual games that kind of flew under the radar for me. Totem Story Farm and Lemuria Bay I really had no clue about, but I think I was pretty close with most of the others. (Patty pat on the back) So, congrats to all the developers that got a feature yesterday!
We had a few nuggets of news yesterday besides who did/didn’t get featured…..
First off, SPIL GAMES released a “Chapter 2” update to their fairly new game, Operation Now: Hospital. I haven’t dug into Chapter 2 yet, but the first chapter is pretty good. We are actually doing a giveaway with them for a pretty cool prize pack! This is the first physical swag giveaway I’ve done, so I’m trying not to screw it up! Anyway, participating is easy. You can read all the details HERE.
Developer Spiderweb Software announced yesterday they are in the process of creating the final game in the Avernum Trilogy titled, Avernum 3: Ruined World. A3:RW will be released for Windows, Mac, and iPad. No word on a release date though.
Speaking of things coming in threes, if you enjoyed the first two chapters of the adventure game, Journey Down, you’ll be happy to know that the third and final chapter was announced yesterday. And luckily you won’t have to wait that long! Chapter 3 will be releasing on the 21st of this month! I’ve played the first chapter, but held off on the second for some reason. I think I’ll start Chapter 1 over and try and play the full game in it’s entirety. That’s kind of what I’ve been doing with the Telltale games lately. Waiting until the full game is finished before I play.
Those of you that are into racing games like me may be excited that CSR Racing 2 received an upgrade yesterday celebrating Ferrari’s 70th Anniversary. The update of course includes 6 new Ferraris and a bunch of timed events catering to the manufacturer. Yes, most of the vehicles are most likely bought with premium currency, but that’s the world we live in today I guess. It’s still pretty cool seeing Ferraris in the game though.
Dead Ahead: Zombie Warfare received a pretty big update with an entirely new event called, Humans vs Bandits vs Zombies. It’s actually a really good update. There has been a ton of stuff added and some pretty cool changes. It’s definitely worth downloading again if you deleted it.
Lastly. Just a few quick updates from yesterday. Parking Mania Deluxe received 20 new levels, Dashy Crashy received a new Drift Event, and Flippy Knife got a bunch of new knives.
Alright SNAPP Family. That’s your SNAPPshot for yesterday. Have a great Friday and keep on swiping……..
