Pukk SNAPP Review
I couldn’t let this little nugget from last week pass by without a mention. Especially since it was our SNAPPlogo for the week…
The game I’m talking about is Pukk (by Itatake). Pukk is actually a character in the game. He’s a Swedish treasure hunter in search for gold, but is constantly running into trouble with a lovesick polar bear.
At its core, Pukk (the game, not the character) is a level based auto-runner. Pukk is constantly on the move, bouncing and sliding back and forth across the ice path. A simple tap of the screen will speed Pukk up. It’s a simple mechanic, but gets really hectic once you pass level 4 or 5. You are given a quota of sorts at the beginning of each level. “Smash X amount of boxes/ice blocks/snow/etc.” You smash things by just bumping into them. One mistake and you become the polar bear’s lover. (By the way, did I mention that there’s a polar bear that’s constantly chasing you?)
Pukk takes a few to grow on you. It starts off fairly simple and that might turn some people off, but if you stick with it, things become pretty fun. There’s also tons of outfits and swag to purchase with the gold you collect on the way. It’s a nice extra touch to an already fun game. So, if you’re looking for something new to play, you can’t go wrong giving Pukk a try.
Pukk SNAPP Review over and out!
(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full fledged game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a certain game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether it’s worth your time/money or not.)
