(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full fledged game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a certain game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether it’s worth your time/money or not.)
Near Escape is an Survival/adventure game where you are one of the last few people on earth that has survived an airborne infection that has turned everyone to zombies. (It’s kind of your typical zombie game story.) The object of the game is to just stay alive. With the v-stick and buttons, you can walk or run through abandoned cities and landscapes and collect resources in order to stay alive. What’s kind of cool is that along with keeping your hunger and health up, you have to also keep your sanity. If that meter drops too low, all kinds of crazy stuff starts happening. The game is a lot deeper than I originally expected. The translation isn’t the greatest, but it’s definitely not bad by any means. So, if you’re looking for a new survival/zombie game, Near Escape may be worth checking out.
