(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full fledged game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether it’s worth your time/money or not.)
Hag’s Castle is an old school dungeon crawler with new school visuals. The game is set in the age of Scottish myth and legend. You play as an unknown knight that is out to defeat the demonic witchcraft of Madam Hag. Most of the game is played within the walls of Madam Hag’s castle (hence the title?). Climbing towers stairs, exploring wine cellars, fighting an array of enemies. The visuals are absolutely beautiful and the controls work well. My only real issue is that I was hoping the game had more RPG elements in it. As it stands, Hag’s Castle is an action/adventure game. It’s nothing negative about the game. It’s more of a personal preference. Either way you look at it, Hag’s Castle is a great looking (and playing) game and a hidden gem worth checking out.
