(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full fledged game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a certain game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether it’s worth your time/money or not.)
Here’s another quick one that just released and haven’t gotten much attention. The game is. Badminton League (by RedFish Games).
Now, before you say to yourself “Badminton?? WTF is Noen smoking??” and dismiss this, hear me out…..
I know that I don’t write about sports games much. I don’t watch or pay much attention to sports unless it involves Detroit, but I DO like playing me some sports games! As far as badminton though, I’ve never played or watched a game in my life.
Anyway, I decided to try Badminton League out for the hell of it when it first released and I’ve gotta say, it’s really fun!! There’s a bunch of different game modes including single matches, local multiplayer, and tournaments. It’s got a slimmed down character creation, but you can unlock and upgrade different pieces of equipment.
What I really like is that Badminton League isn’t a sim sports game. It’s really simple to play and has more of a casual/arcade-y feel to it. It’s perfect for picking up and playing a real quick quick game when you’re needing to kill a couple minutes. Throw in the cool low-poly visuals and the minor RPG elements and you’ve got yourself a download from me! Plus, I can now tell people that I know how to play badminton.
