(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full-fledged iOS game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a mobile game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether or not it’s worth your time/money.)
HELI 100 is an action-packed SHMUP game by indie developer, Tree Men Games. The object of the game is to pretty much shoot everything that moves. It’s a simplistic game that kind of reminds me of a hardcore version of Man vs Missiles. You are in a somewhat enclosed environment and are faced with several waves of enemies coming at you. Aiming and firing is automatic, so you only need to worry about controlling your craft. This can be tough enough in itself! You start off with a “dash” move, but later on, you’ll unlock all sorts of new power-ups to help you out. There are 100 levels in HELI 100 (now I get the title!). The first few levels are fairly easy. The game really starts shining once you get past level 7 or so and the difficulty starts ramping up. There’s quite a bit packed into this little game with tons of new ships, mechs, planes, and power-ups to unlock. Throw in the game having 100 levels and you’ve got quite a bit of content. HELI 100 is yet another instant iOS classic by Tree Men Games and should be downloaded by the entire population.
HELI 100 is also in this week’s SNAPP Roundup!!
