(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full-fledged iOS game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a mobile game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether or not it’s worth your time/money.)
Wenjia is a 2D platformer and the first standalone game by Veewo Games. You play as a kitten as as the forest is shattered by sudden earthquakes. Your job is to reach the Burning Hearts of the mountains and rescue the spirits before it’s too late. Wenjia has a good mix of platforming and puzzles. Along with running and jumping on/over platforms and obstacles, you’ll need to switch between the Matter Realm and Energy Realm. Both are completely different worlds with their own positives and negatives. Sometimes you’ll even be switching between worlds in the middle of jumps. What you see is what you get with Wenjia. It’s a solid “premium” platformer with absolutely beautiful artwork. The on-screen controls are tight and audio is immersive (especially with headphones). If you’re looking for a good straightforward platformer with no shenanigans, Wenjia should be the next game you pick up.
Wenjia is also in this week’s SNAPP Roundup!!
