(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full-fledged iOS game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a mobile game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether or not it’s worth your time/money.)

Tap Souls is a pixel art RPG clicker game by the team at TaleSoft Studio. Now, I rarely review clicker/idle games unless I find something unique about them. Most of them are kind of the same. Tap Souls is actually pretty interesting. You play as an unnamed hero in a demolished world that is out to defeat the Dark Lords. Fighting is basically just tapping on the screen as fast as you can. What I thought was kind of cool is that the game plays like most roguelikes. You start off with the first wave of enemies. Once you defeat the mini-boss, you have the choice to return to the castle with your loot, or keep going for more. If you die, you lose that money until you reach that point again. So, it’s risk vs reward. Once in the castle, you can use your earnings to upgrade your stats, buy new weapons, armor, and magic, and more. Some may feel that Tap Souls is a bit too “grindy”. It takes a while until you start earning better loot. Plus, the game is F2P, so there’s the whole dual currency thing. Regardless, Tap Souls is a fun little time killer with some great pixel art. If you’re a fan of clickers, or are looking for a clicker with some actual substance, Tap Souls is an iPhone game worth checking out.
