(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full-fledged iOS game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a mobile game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether or not it’s worth your time/money.)
Knights & Slimes is a pixel art platformer by indie developer, Monte Boyd and his team. The world is taken over by slimes and it’s up to you to get rid of them all. You play as a knight (originally) with his sword sticking straight out. (Think Slashin’) You can only touch the slimes with your sword. If any other part of your body touches, it’s game over. Knights & Slimes plays more like a roguelike/high score chaser than a platformer. Yes, there are 50 levels to get through, but I haven’t found a way to continue yet (without paying real money). There are several different knights/characters to collect with the coins you earn by making combos and random power-ups that’ll pop up every now and again. So, there’s a little more to the game besides just playing through it. I’ve been having a lot of fun with this one so far. If you’re a fan of platformers or games with simple controls, Knights & Slimes is definitely worth checking out this week!
Knights & Slimes is also in this week’s SNAPP Roundup!
