(From The Attic is a way for us to bring new life to older games. With so many games releasing on the App Store on a daily basis, it’s easy to overlook a game or two or forget about a game you once loved, but never finished. These articles can come as regular reviews, but for the most part, they are just a way for us to talk about our experiences with an older game and hopefully bring some new attention to it.)
Nightgate is an absolutely beautiful avoidance game that released back in August of 2016 by Semidome. The year is 2398 and a network of intelligent computers know as Nightgate is the last remaining life form on earth. Your job is to step into the computer and explore what lies beyond Nightgate. The controls are a simple v-stick that you use to navigate throughout the beautiful landscapes. I honestly feels like you are working your way through a computer in some levels. There are some mild puzzle elements, but for the most part, you are just trying to make your way through the computer without touching anything red. Nightgate is an absolutely stunning looking game that still holds up today. I found myself playing through it a second time just recently and still enjoying the hell out of it. If you haven’t had a chance to play this gem, I couldn’t recommend it enough.
