(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full-fledged iOS game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a mobile game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether or not it’s worth your time/money.)
Vladlen! is an over-the-top runner about Moscow, monsters, and a missing bear. The game gets most of its charm from it’s ridiculousness. There’s tanks, guitar guns, log-boards, and even a radioactive cat! Normally I love games like this, but in this case, I’m really on the fence. I absolutely love the craziness of the game and I’m always a fan of “run & gunners’. Also, there are a ton of weapons and upgrades. So, what’s keeping me from loving Vladlen? It’s the fact that the game is technically a “paid” game at $0.99, but plays like a F2P game. You’ve got dual currency (coins/gems) and an energy timer. Now, if the game launched as a F2P game, then I’d be totally fine with it. Vladlen is actually a really fun game! I just hate paying for a game with half of the stuff locked behind premium currency. I will say that there aren’t any ads in the game, so you could actually pretend that the initial price is an ad blocker? I don’t know. I’ll leave the decision up to you. Vladlen is a fun F2P game that costs a buck.
