(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full-fledged iOS game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a mobile game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether or not it’s worth your time/money.)
Darebone is a simple turn-based roguelike by indie developer, Tuna Ongu. There’s no story, no extras, hell, not even an options screen. The levels are randomly generated, but unfortunately, not balanced. Each run feels a bit different, but sometimes you can possibly be over or under powered. It kind of adds to the randomness to it all. Controls are simple. Just tap where you want to go and tap on the enemies you want to attack. Your character does the rest. The pixel art is well done and the soundtrack isn’t bad. Darebone is really barebones (Hey! I just got that!) roguelike. What you see is what you get. If you’re a fan of just playing for a high score and like turn-based games, Darebone may be the game for you.
Darebone is also in this week’s SNAPP Roundup!!
