(From The Attic is a way for us to bring new life to older games. With so many games releasing on the App Store on a daily basis, it’s easy to overlook a game or two or forget about a game you once loved, but never finished. These articles can come as regular reviews, but for the most part, they are just a way for us to talk about our experiences with an older game and hopefully bring some new attention to it.)
My Diggy Dog is an adventure/digging game that was released back in early 2017 by King Bird Games. You play as a dog named Marty that can’t seem to give up searching for artifacts and treasure like his retired master. So, he decides to go off hunting on his own. Most of the game plays out below the surface. Marty starts off digging below the front yard looking for anything that he can bring up and sell for money. You have to watch the dog’s health, his stamina, hunger, and even his bravery. So, of course, packing for a dig is just as important as finding treasure. Diggy Dog can be a bit “grindy” for some. There’s a lot of repetition when you’re trying to earn money. The game is F2P, so of course there’s the usual dual currency thing going on. Regardless, this is a really solid game. There is a lot of upgrades, tons of things to collect, and a whole lot of polish! My Diggy Dog is one of those overlooked gems that needed to be dug up. (Heh. Puns)
