(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full-fledged iOS game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a mobile game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether it’s worth your time/money or not.)
Rest in Pieces is a dark reaction-based game by indie developer, Itatake. Your job is to save all 15 souls that have been trapped in porcelain figurines and left for eternity inside their worst nightmares. The object is to swing and navigate these porcelain figurines throughout each nightmare without smashing them. The game takes some really fast reflexes, a bit of rhythm, and a whole lot of patience. Rest in Pieces can be absolutely brutal at times! One slip and it’s “game over”. Regardless of how mad the game makes me at times, I keep finding myself coming back to it. The visuals are haunting, yet beautiful, while the soundtrack is eerie and may have you peeing in your pants a little. (Maybe it’s just me?) Rest in Pieces is a great little title that will piss you off just as much as you’ll enjoy it. I will say to spring for the infinite lives, as you’ll be smashing a lot of porcelain.
