(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full-fledged iOS game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a mobile game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether it’s worth your time/money or not.)

Pa Pa Land: Head Escape is a new avoidance/survival game by Nova Studios/Invictus. The object is pretty simple, float your character round the screen and pop balloons while dodging invaders. The doodle visuals and animations are absolutely beautiful and is the best part of the game. While playing, you’ll see pencils and scissors on the side of the screen as if you’re playing on a sheet of graph paper on your desk. The controls are simple with just tapping on each side of the screen to move your character. Each character you play handles differently and has their own unique characteristics. There’s also cosmetic changes you can unlock. Now, I’ll admit. I have no clue what is actually going on with the story. I don’t know why people are trying to shoot me or even why I’m popping balloons, but I honestly don’t care. The gameplay is enjoyable enough to keep me playing. Pa Pa Land may not be bringing a whole lot new to the “drawing board”, but the game is fun and sometimes that’s all that matters.

Pa Pa Land: Head Escape is in this week’s SNAPP Roundup or you can download it right here.
