(From The Attic is a way for us to bring new life to older games. With so many games releasing on the App Store on a daily basis, it’s easy to overlook a game or two or forget about a game you once loved, but never finished. These articles can come as regular reviews, but for the most part, they are just a way for us to talk about our experiences with an older game and hopefully bring some new attention to it.)
Noen was digging waaaaay in the back of the iOS Attic and found this dusty snugget!!
Solomon’s Keep released back in April of 2010 during the first year of the App Store. You play as a near graduate of the Wizarding College. Your final test is to storm the evil necromancer, Solomon Dark’s castle. The game plays like any modern day dual-stick shooter. One stick moves your wizard, while the other determines which way you shoot. You are faced with levels upon levels full of skeletons, zombies, imps, and more. You earn experience for every kill and can level yourself up and master 21 different skills. Plus, there are over 50 magical weapons to find or purchase from your teachers. Raptisoft updated the game to 64-bit back in 2017, so it still plays well on current devices. Solomon’s Keep may not look as pretty as it did in 2010, but it’s still a lot of fun today and well worth a playthrough if you somehow missed out on it. Solomon’s Keep will always be a piece of iOS gaming history.
