(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full-fledged iOS game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a mobile game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether it’s worth your time/money or not.)
One of my favorite things is finding fun little quirky indie games on the App Store. This is one of those times. Claw Crane City is an odd little game where it’s half crane-style game and half city builder. The object is to pick up the different city parts with the claw, which then adds to your city. The actual city building is all automatic and pretty bare-bones. The claw action is where the game shines. The first couple levels are pretty simple, but once you get to level 5 or so, there’s a lot of brain-work involved. The concept of Triple-C is awesome. And it’s executed fairly well. Sure, I would have loved to see a “real” city builder with some depth to it, but it’s not a deal breaker. Claw Crane City may not look the greatest and with only 20 levels, it’s fairly short. But, for what it lacks in visuals and depth, CCC makes up for it in weirdness. And weirdness equals fun.
Claw Crane City is also in this week’s SNAPP Roundup!
