(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full-fledged iOS game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a mobile game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether it’s worth your time/money or not.)

This is a tough one!

Let’s see. Skull Towers is a re-release of a classic iOS game by Playshore called, Skull Legends. It’s a mashup of a tower defense game with archery-style gameplay. Skull Legends was a really cool game in its time and still plays really well on older devices. Luckily, those of you that never got to enjoy it back then can now play it as “Skull Towers”. It’s still pretty much the same game except that it’s gotten the whole F2P treatment with energy timers, dual currency, and random chests. The old market that used to sell new bows, arrows, and bracers has now been replaced with IAP deals. Some of the old content has been removed from the original game too. There are fewer towers, enemies, and equipment in this game. It’s sad to see a game that was once great in its time get re-released like this. I understand that this is the world we live in, but still. It doesn’t have to always be like this. I will say that the visuals have been updated a bit and the core gameplay is still really fun. So, if you’ve never had a chance to play the original Skull Legends and don’t mind some of the stuff mentioned above, Skull Towers is still a fun game worth checking out.

Skull Towers is also in this week’s SNAPP Roundup!
