(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full-fledged iOS game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a mobile game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether it’s worth your time/money or not.)
Escape: Close Call is an adrenaline-pumping driving game by developer, Tarboosh Games that rewards you for near crashes with type points and encourages you to take risks. The object of the game is to escape the police, SWAT, and Army in order to make it through a gate that opens in 10 minutes. Besides trying to stay alive, you need to look good doing it. You earn style points by drifting, doing donuts, having close calls with police, or causing them to crash. Escape: Close Call is one of those easy to learn/hard to master games. The steering seems really tight at first and runs only last mere seconds until you start learning and using the “standoff mode” move. There’s also 25 different vehicles to unlock and a bunch of power-ups to upgrade. At first glance, Escape: Close Call may seem like just another car chase game, but once you peel back the layers, there is a lot to be appreciated.
Escape: Close Call is also in this week’s SNAPP Roundup!!
