(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full-fledged iOS game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a mobile game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether it’s worth your time/money or not.)
IF: Make A Choice is described as a “storyline platformer” by the talented indie developer, Akim Kasabulatov. (Akim is the dev behind Osteya Adventures) In IF, you take on the role of two mechanic robots named Tim and Fly. They come across a huge monster that threatens their world and now they have to try and save their world and themselves. IF feels more like a puzzle platformer to me than anything. There’s is a huge emphasis on trying things over and over to figure things out. The game doesn’t hold your hand much. You don’t know what kills you and what doesn’t. So, every level you are dying and retrying. The on-screen controls are a bit stiff feeling at times. They work fairly well for the most part, but sometimes can be a pain when you have to act fast. IF: Make A Choice is a great idea that needs a little more tweaking to become something special. If you’re into story-driven games, IF might be a game for you, just be prepared to die………a lot.
IF: Make A Choice is also in this week’s SNAPP Roundup!
