(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full-fledged iOS game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a mobile game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether it’s worth your time/money or not.)
HUMV Dogs is a game I debated on reviewing. Veteran iOS gamers may remember a title that released in 2014 called, Kitten Taxi where you played as cats in a taxi being chased by goon dogs. Well, this plays pretty much exactly like it except you’re dogs in a Humvee. Same sketchy hand-drawn visuals, same gameplay. I did WAY more research than I had ever planned to see if this game is a clone or if it’s a spinoff/sequel to the original (the original has been pulled from my iOS library and Google Play), so I just decided to say fuck it and post something about it. The game is twitchy, confusing, but still fun somehow. And there are a lot of upgrades! The biggest thing I can’t figure out is why the hell a chiptune version of the Christmas song, Joy To The World is the flipping background music to dogs in Humvees shooting the hell out of cats and Godzilla? Oh yea, did I mention that Godzilla is in the game? Whether it’s a clone or a spinoff, HUMV Dogs is definitely something worth checking out. Good or bad….
HUMV Dogs is also in this week’s SNAPP Roundup!
@hashtagNOEN (Great. I have Christmas songs stuck in my head in October)
