(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full fledged game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether it’s worth your time/money or not.)
Pico the Flea is a fairly standard platformer with a nice art style. The visuals kind of take after the recently released iOS game, Bendy Run or even the console hit, Cuphead with the 1930’s cartoon look. You play as a flea named Pico and are trying to get through the house without being killed by buzzing bees or the family dog. You can find different hats that give you special abilities throughout the levels. This changes things up and keeps the game from getting monotonous. There are only three levels, but each level is fairly long. My only wish is that the controls were a little better. If you move your thumb off of the directional pad, the game ends up missing your input when you put your thumb back on. This causes a lot of issues when facing enemies or long jumps. That keeps me on the fence with recommending this one. If the controls could get tightened up a bit and maybe a few more levels added, Pico the Flea would definitely be worth checking out.
Pico the Flea is also in this week’s SNAPP Roundup.
