(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full fledged game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a certain game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether it’s worth your time/money or not.)
Wander Star is a procedurally generated pixel art platformer (say that 5 times real fast) where you are exploring an infinite number of planets and collecting “Tetrites”. What’s kind of cool is that each planet has its own unique attributes. Now, don’t go in thinking this is going to be a mobile version of No Man’s Sky. It’s basically just an unlimited amount of pixely side scrolling platformers, but it’s still a lot of fun. The controls are a bit tight and I wish there was a little more to the collecting part of the game. Right now, you are just collecting Tetrites to purchase power-ups. It would have been nice being able to buy different weapons or characters. Either way, Wander Star is a unique concept with some fun surprises.
