(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really a full fledged game review as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a certain game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know whether it’s worth your time/money or not.)

It’s only Tuesday and things have been pretty busy already! Today has had a fair share of solid games on the App Store already. One snugget that popped up is Escape Zombie Land (by Boltfish).

Escape Zombie Land is a side scroller action RPG where you play as……..ahh hell. I honestly have no clue what’s going on in the story. I’ve gotta be honest. The English translation in this game is pretty bad. That’s not saying that the game is bad at all! I’ve played a pretty decent enough chunk to know that I’m enjoying it.

Basically, you are a headstrong Rambo-style guy named Jack that is out to either find his wife and family and/or seek revenge for them. The translation in not horrible or unreadable. It just seems to have some issues here and there during main parts of the story. Anyway, I don’t want to get hung up on just this.

The game itself looks and plays fairly well. There are tons of weapons to purchase and upgrade, there are convenience stores to purchase supplies and ammo, and plenty of characters to meet along the way. There’s also some little puzzles thrown into the game to mix things up a little bit. You even have different choices that you can make that changes up the story.

So far, I’ve really been enjoying EZL. There’s some mild exploration, random weather effects, day/night cycle, and the on-screen controls work pretty well. The only hangup is the English translation. If you can get past that, Escape Zombie Land is a hidden snugget worth checking out. Plus, it’s a paid game! So, no ads or IAPs!!

You can download Escape Zombie Land HERE, or you can check it out in this week’s SNAPP Roundup HERE!
