(Coffee & Swiping is a news-y/blogg-y article about the mobile gaming industry and everything in between. It’s basically an excuse for Noen to ramble on about anything and everything that has to do with nothing.)
Gooooood morning/evening/afternoon my sexy family. It’s almost time for Valentines Day. You know what that means. Sweet, sweet love is in the air. I’m ready to get me a romantic couples massage.
Apparently I feel like rambling again. If you haven’t noticed lately, I pretty much do these when I’ve got nothing to talk about, but I feel like talking anyway. Usually it’s in the beginning of the week when there isn’t much going on.
So, let’s talk about nothing shall we??
Well, as far as interesting news of the week goes, developer/publisher, Crescent Moon announced yesterday that they will be releasing android game, Reed on iOS. Reed has been on Android under PXLink for about a year now and Crescent Moon is helping them get the game over to iOS. I haven’t had a chance to play Reed on Android yet, but I’ve got an iOS version heading my way. So, I’ll keep you posted on how things are.
We actually had a bit of news yesterday which is pretty rare for Mondays. Well, it’s the mobile game industry. There’s always surprises.
Anyway, Bossa Studios released developer, Bae Team’s cat dating sim, Purrfect Date. I played a good chunk of it last night and so far, I’ve gotta say that it’s…..interesting. There is a lot of text in the game. No, seriously. A LOT of text. Bae definitely put a lot of time into the story of this game. I’m still trying to figure out what’s going on, but so far, the story has been intriguing to say the least.
The other bit of news that was all over social media was announcement of Alto’s Odyssey hitting the App Store on February 22nd. You can of course pre-order the game right now. You know. Just in case the game sells out on the first day. I’ve ranted about this before, but why are we doing pre-orders on digital games? It seems like more of a hassle right now anyway with people getting double charged. It’s just odd to have pre-orders on these games. Usually you pre-order games so you can lock-in your copy in case the game sells out quickly. I’m pretty sure that doesn’t happen all that often on the App Store. I guess as long as it isn’t hurting anyone.
(Side Note: I get most of my news/info from social media and just networking with developers. But, I do get quite a bit of news from websites like TouchArcade and PocketGamer. Both are great sites and deserve the props.)
Alright. Onto SNAPPZILLA…….
If you haven’t noticed, SNAPPZILLA 2.0 is in full effect. Last week we rolled out the new website and so far, everyone seems to be digging it. I absolutely love the look of it myself. Anyway, we’ve been adding a bunch of new stuff as of lately and figured this would be a good time to just remind everyone that we are working on things other than just the website. Like, our YouTube channel, Instagram and Facebook pages, and as of yesterday, I started up a Twitch and Mobcrush account. I haven’t actually started streaming yet. I need to figure out the best time for everyone. But, you can find me on Twitch @ hashtagNOEN and Mobcrush @ NOEN. I may eventually create official SNAPPZILLA accounts if everything goes well. I’m new to this whole streaming shit.
Anyway, that’s about it for me. I think I’ve rambled long enough. Have a great week everyone!
