(Coffee & Swiping is a daily news-y/blogg-y article about the mobile gaming industry and everything in between. It’s basically an excuse for Noen to ramble on about anything and everything that has to do with nothing.)
Goooooood flipping Morning SNAPP Family!! Well, it’s morning for me anyway. I know it’s damn near afternoon by the time I publish these articles, but perfection takes time damnit!!
Anyway, it’s time to pour yourself a cup of coffee and let’s see what the hell has been going on in the industry.
In case you don’t know, today is the first day that Coffee & Swiping has gone daily. (Yay!) So, with it also being a Monday, I’m just going to kind of skim through the news that happened over the weekend and maybe a bit into last week if I feel like it. I’ll get into the groove tomorrow once I have 24 hours under my belt. I apologize ahead of time if today is a little shitty. I just got back from vacation yesterday and I’m trying to get my bearings straight.
So let’s see…..Well, I guess I’ll start off with some bad news.
So, last week Shadow Fight 2: Special Edition released on Google Play, but unfortunately the game has been delayed until this week for iOS via a tweet from the Shadow Fight 3 Twitter account. At least it’s not a HUGE delay, but it would have been nice to have have it release last week seeing how it was a slower week for games on the App Store.
In other fighting game news. It looks like Bandai Namco is taking another “jab” (heh. fighting pun) at Tekken for mobile. This one is simply titled, Tekken Mobile (clever huh?) and was just soft launched on the Canadian App Store. In case you haven’t guessed already, it will be F2P and by the look of the trailer, it’s going to have the usual dual currency and random fighter/loot card packs. One thing I’m not sure is if there is any kind of “energy” system. This is the world we live in now folks.
Other than that, we had ourselves a few decent updates……
Flippy Knife got a pretty big update with new weapons/knives from real knife makers. The biggest thing was the removal of pop-up ads.
Time Crash (by 8SEC) just got an update with a new Endless Mode, an optional EASY mode, and for south-paws like me, a left handed mode!! Yay!!
One of my favorite updates over the weekend was Pigeon Wings receiving touch controls! The tilt worked fine in the game, but I MUCH prefer touch.
Alright folks. That’s it for this morning. I’ll see you bright and early tomorrow. Keep it stiff and remember to not stare at the eclipse today!!
